Wolf and Gangwal both had a plan.. each of them walked with double digit millions
Siegal had a plan, walked away with 6 million

How many million will Lakefield walk with?

I heard he has a new plan...

Cash is getting tight, I expect he'll only get 3-4 million.

So what you're really saying is that US Airways deserves a world-class management team but should be able to find such a team by offering a sub-standard compensation package???

Anyone who is truly capable and willing to lead a multi-billion dollar company knows what their market value is. With US Airways on the brink of extinction and with the legacy airline industry on the edge of collapse, there really MUST be an incentive for someone to step into that head office at CCY.

LMAO.

Great time for a rookie with zero airline operating experience to take over the controls isn't it?

I'm sure it was his lifelong dream to come out of retirement to rescue a failing air carrier on final approach.

It couldn't be his buddy said, hey let's milk this cow till it's dry and then shoot it.

Naahhh.

Let's keep paying top dollar to retain the "talent".

If the management team had true leadership abilities and actually wanted to succeed then they would knowingly accept the positions at reduced rates for the interm. When the company began to flourish then they could reap the rewards via performance incentives.....but then that would mean that they actually have to show something for their compensation.....what a concept indeed.

BTW, When Chrysler Corp was in our shoes didn't Lee Iacocca work for $1.00 per year until the place turned around????? One might learn something from that sort of leadership  !!

Do you know what Lee would have received if Chrysler had gone belly-up and closed its doors??? There was far more to his compensation package than just a $1 annual salary.

If it came to that point then I could care less.....the point being Iacocca took it upon himself to lead by example in an effort to get things going......something unheard of at UAIR.

However, Iacocca had experience in his field unlike Lakefield, He actually wanted Chrysler to succeed, and he rewarded all Chysler employees very well for making the company succeed. Unlike US which only rewards top management whether they succeed or fail (wheres the incentive).

You'll never know how much he'll really get . . . . just like you don't know how much Siegel really got. Corruption, under table deals, and just plain old fashion payoffs to each other are the hallmarks of American corporate BODs now. Even when they get caught, it doesn't mean jail time, just a slap on the wrist and a wink from the judge . . . . witness the Healthsouth execs down in ol' Alabamee. Oh, wait, isn't that where Bronner's from?
