Sad story. I had a feeling that it would happen one day - so much going on there! I took that route several times - at least 20 - and always felt that extra jolt of adrenaline, looking out for all the planes and helicopters. Tuff task - you better be ready!

A beautiful, sunny day; sky there was probably as crowded as the NY Piers below. Such nice days are a lot more dangerous to fly than the days of bad weather - and the reason is simple - a lot more traffic in the sky - especially all the weekend-fliers taking their families or friends for a ride. Not judging here, just bringing up the statistics.

Hudson River corridor is pretty narrow and low – the available allowance there is around 500 feet (300 really, you can’t get too low), and the lateral distance...
