I tuned in late to today's History Ch.

It was about a rather ingenious IJN sub design, which could have attacked the Gatun Locks in the vital Panama Canal. I decided to investigate and came up with the following link. Today we would call it a "Weapons System", I suppose.

Fascinating bit of Naval history that had escaped me.

Thanks for the link! I've seen mention of the I-400 before but never anything as detailed or by someone who had actually served on her.
