I have worked for this company for many years but am giving my notice this week.
I have loved working for US Airways, but can't take the inept management any longer.
I don't mean anything to them so why should I commit my time to a company that doesn't care.
It is amazing if you look out there, you can find something different. Most people are afraid to make a change.
I have heard from many front line employees they are to old to make a change. That is not true.
It just takes effort most people don't want to make.
I am going to a company that most people have been at for many years and seem very happy. I have heard nothing but wonderful things about it from people that have worked there. Hopefully I can do 10 or 15 years there before I retire, but I am vested the minute I walk in the door!
I hope that everyone really evaluates what works best for them and take the time see if there are other options available.
Everyone that comes back here after they leave the company says that it is the best thing they have done....I feel confidant that it will be the same for me.
The mental change I had to go through was really hard. A lot of it is mental, being willing to look elsewhere.
But once I did decide to leave the weight off my shoulders felt wonderful!
I did not want to become bitter and let this affect all my life, and it was starting to.
I hope each of you can find what you need to be happy also.....

good luck to you....where are you going and are they hiring??

Godspeed, my friend. I've got to hang out for another 18 months in order to get early retirement. Good luck!

I am going to a military contracting company. Right now I have to cover everything just to be able to do my job. Where I am going they have a FULL support staff. As they say, we don't want to set anyone up to fail. Totally different mindset from US Airways!
I will have alot more to say regarding my situation after I have left. But I want these last few weeks to go smooth!
And yes they are hiring!

I'm much happier on the other side too. Even put in 10 hours ot and guess what===not tired a bit and still enjoy my new job.

Good Luck Tech 2!

Go for it and don't look back. I left Oct '05, barely make 1/2 of what I was making and never been happier!

Part of me misses my old coworkers and sometimes I miss the passengers. However when I talk to my old buds, I know I made the right choice.

I'm leaving as well. Last "official" day is the 19th. I couldn't be happier. Finally something to look forward to. There really is a light at the end of the tunnel. (I hope it's not a train... )

To bad it was'nt the other way and we could get Dougie and his inept management team to quit instead of the workers.....It would be a much better place to work. GOOD LUCK 🙄

Best of luck to you. I too have left "USAir". Couldn't be happier with my new employer. My wife works with former "U" people. Everyone misses their friends, NO ONE misses the job. Takes guts, but it is well worth it....

Took my 25 years and never looked back. Things are wonderful!
Do feel bad for friends not seen and what they have to live with.
Still look up when jet flies over.....guess will always be in the blood.

Best of luck to you Tech, I know what you went through to reach your decision. Many of us have US Airways in our blood and consider the people we worked with as family members. It is not easy to walk away from a career you love and say fairwell to the friends you have spent the holidays in the trenches with over the years.
There is a tremendous feeling of relief when it is over and you set out down your new path. For me, even after making more money and being my own boss, I find after being gone for three years there are days when I remeber the great times and friends I no longer have.
If that ever happens to you, my advice to you is just pick up the telephone and call one of your friends who is still working for the company. You will thank your lucky stars and appreciate even more the amount of courage it took for you to take the step to a better way of living.

Much luck to you and try not to look back.
