I was just wondering how your health/medical plan works for a part-time new hire( if family is covered)....and I was wondering what everyones feelings are for working for this company.

I worked for a legacy carrier for 19 years and I am making a big move!

Any input would be gladly appreciated.

Don't work for jetBlue! They will fire you in 5 years if they don't like you. Try an airline with a union!

After 19 years you should know better, you don't want to work for an airline.

I have friend working for Jetblue, she said that they fire people if they dont like you even if a customer complains about you. They hire and they fire very easily.

Not quite true. JetBlue does not fire people after 5 years and they do not fire people because
a customer complained.. Union or no, it takes an act of congress to get fired at JetBlue.

The fastest way to get fired here, fail a drug screen or booze test. Do that and you are out the
door so fast it will make your head spin.

Getting fired because John Q public felt like he was not getting 100% attention, think again.

And ask the 5000 union employee's at NWA that are having a great vacation.. See how they like it.

How about the 3000 people at US Airways that lost their union jobs. Shall we talk about United and
all the union people that are doing great there. Oh, TWA and how they got a great deal with their
union when they got bought out by AA..

So yes, lets see what the Union did..

Uh, yes JB does fire you after 5 years if they hate you. You get fired for saying "union" on property!! Man how much Blue Juice has Neelman got you guys drinking?

Uh, no they don't. Why talk as though you are actually informed? You don't work here, you work for a competitor, and you never waste the opportunity to run down the company and the people there. You don't know jack, bitter 'ol b*tch. Tell us again what great job protectors the unions have been in the airline industry and how many jobs they've saved at American and elsewhere. Bet you have lots of experience to talk about.

There you have it. The Jack of all trades and master of none has spoken so it has to be gospel. After all he, she, it knows everything about JetBlue. Since the inception of JetBlue I know of two pilots who have been fired and unfortunately they had it coming. So keep up the lies BOB you do make this board ever so entertaining!

I personally know one mechanic who along with another was fired because they were talking "union" at JFK. They were on the job for about 8 months. No problems with performance, attendance, stealing, lying.. you name it. They were experienced mechanics with years of A320 under their belts. They both came from UAL.

The reason they were terminated was because of "performance." Imagine that! It took JetBlue eight months to evaluate them.

I don't think it's a crime in the state of New York to talk "union" at a place of work.

There are a lot of us who would take a pay cut, move or what have you. But that five year thing scares people. Why have it? If someone isn't working out fire them. But putting a seed of doubt in any potential job applicant isn't doing JB any favors.

There are alot of good and bad things about unions, but this 5 yr situation is definitly a bad one. Southwest is hiring

What is jetblue's pay scale for agents?
What is this 5 year thing?

Welcome back, numbnuts! Did you stop by Dunkin Donuts and get that belly of yours filled with jelly donuts? I heard they have a new blue jelly for JB employees. It's spiked with the juice that makes you kiss Neelman's a**!

Now run a long and learn how to fly that A320 or that piece of crap E190. I noticed that JB has a E190 sitting at the new hangar at JFK. Funny thing about that; it's the same plane and has yet to be moved in 2 weeks.

Remember you have a job waiting for you after you get your 5 year walking papers. This job only requires you to remember 3 words. Can you remember 3 words? The 3 words are: Welcome to Wal-Mart!

I posted this awhile back and I'll repeat it again.

B.O.B.

As a JB pilot, and a commuter myself, I have on several occasions had the opportunity to jumpseat on AA. I choose the word “opportunityâ€￾ purposely because I indeed view it as such, but most importantly it is a privilege that is not taken lightly. I can honestly say that I have always been treated with dignity, respect, and outstanding service by AA crews. With that being said, please realize that I do not take your attitude as indicative of the many fine AA employees that I have met along the way. The ride was and is, always appreciated.

B.O.B., everyone has the right to his/ her opinion. Discussion is always good as long as long as it can be spent in an informative, constructive and mature vein. You however choose to come here to the JB board with nothing more than the intent to flame and incite. If you have something to say, then say it. Just don’t come here with the intention to berate others and pick a fight.

Our jumpseat at JB is open to all pilots and F/A’s from other airlines. This includes all open passenger seats as well as the 2 jumpseats in the cockpit (CASS approved pilots) and the 2 additional F/A jumpseats in the back. Come one come all, we are glad to have you aboard, including yourself B.O.B. The only thing we ask in return is a simple “thanks for the rideâ€￾.

Cheers

v1
