For some reason Air America's projected audience had something better to do than listen to talk radio.
who was air america's projected audience?  i mean their actual audience were rich self described "progressives" that who listened to air america as a status symbol, and act liked it meant they were on the front lines of the movement

Regardless of the reasons for going into Iraq, the fact remains we did, and had an obligation not to cut & run for political expediency.

Because we left over a campaign promise, all the people in those photos are now dead at the hands of firing squads, just as Jews were back in the 1940's...

Hope you're all happy in being right or wrong about whatever happened 10 years ago, but keeping a stabilizing force there as we did in Korea and Germany for decades after hostilities ended would have kept all those people alive.

It's THEIR COUNTRY. There is no threat to the US. How would you feel if Saddam Hussein had troops stationed HERE? How well would that go over?

Neo-Cons are  no better then Liberals when it comes to Empire Building or War Mongering, Just two wings on the same bird of prey. Right up until it's their son or daughter who flies home to Dover AFB and not another base..

A lot of them come home that way. For who? For what? Who are the generals in Iraq, Afghanistan, Libya, Syria, Yemen and Pakistan?
General Motors?
General Tire?
General Dynamics?
General Electric?
Who decides who comes hone in that long white casket?

OK, Neville.

Genocide in Europe, be it 1941 or 1991 was also seen as posing no threat to the US.

We have NO BUSINESS in the Middle East except to trade goods and services for oil and minerals. He have no rights to take their countries over.

The Neville Chamberlain reference was the dumbest thing I've heard today but it's early. First, Hitler had already invaded countries well before Munich. At the time the Battle of Britain began only 8% of the US population supported going to war in Europe. Appeasement and isolationism is very different then a policy of non-intervention and a strong national defense. So you'll have to pardon me whilst I ignore the war propaganda that has eroded our civil liberties.

The ISIS folks along with others are trying to throw foreign Armies and influences out of their sovereign countries.  See the Jihadists apparently students of history as well and remember all of the CIA plots at overthrow beginning in Iran in 1953. I also noticed how you skipped over the "Imagine if: question of foreign troops on our soil.So for your viewing pleasure.

I do not recall there being bombings and IED's every day while US forces were in Germany after WWII.

To equate what happened after WWII with whats going on in Iraq is insane.

As I understand it Bush signed an agreement to with draw force and Obama followed that agreement.  The Iraqis wanted us out.

Political expediency?  Did the US soldiers coming home in body bags have anything to do with it?  Nah!  That would be nuts huh?

You seem to be in the camp that believes a peaceful resolution of some sort is possible in Iraq over a certain period of time.  No idea what is based on.  I once thought as you do.  We broke it we own it.  At some point one has to stand back and acknowledge that it cannot be fixed.  We do not have enough money to continue to pay for this.  The cost in US lives is far far too high.

I an most others see Iraq as a cluster phuck.  The tribes who have been fighting for 4,000 years will continue to do so.  No amount of time or spilled US blood will change that.  The result will be the same tomorrow on in 2 years.  The only difference is that there will be more bodies in Arlington in 2 years.

I think a 10 year occupation in Iraq with virtually no success is a pretty good indicator of what 10 or 20 or 30 more years of involvement will accomplish.
