Everyone I've talked to so far agrees, that it's a NO vote on the CWA contract until they rid us of 75% pay while on vacation, and 50% pay while out on sick leave. If no other group has these items in their contract, then why should we. All CWA membes please leave your feedback. Thanks.

Besides the unstable atmosphere at U and the impending pay cuts and work rule changes, the one item in the last contract I truely despised above all else was the 75% pay for taking a vacation. I just felt, no, I hated taking time off for that very reason. I was 25% in the hole every time I took off. My God how I hated that clause.

As a now "former" employee, I don't have to deal with that anymore. If that remained and the 50% for sick time was added to it, well, my disgust would be even more than it was before. That's like walking into a sucker punch--TWICE!

I agree 100%

Roger that! The 25% pay reduction on vacations must be eliminated and the 50% pay for sick time must also go. Kabeesh?????

I dont like the 75% vacation pay and never have. Sure as hell dont care for the 50% sick pay. What would most agents prefer? More hourly pay and less vacation/sick pay or Full pay for vacation/sick but less hourly pay? Its a tough decision and Im sure the company and union will fight over that issue but Im sure the company will want one or the other. not both.

We didn't earn our vacation/sicks day at at reduced pay level, so why should we be paid at a reduced level. I earned my vacation/sick time at 100%, it is only right that we be paid in the same manner. When we are short staffed by 20% , does the company give us a 20% bonus for working harder?

F/A's can feel your pain.

In our latest offer 3:45 (hours:mins) pay per day. It was 5:33 per day

Our min pay per day is 5 hours. Plus we lost 14 days of vacation!

No one can figure out where the CWA's head was when they negotiated that 75% vacation pay. With the recent paycut no one can even afford to take a vacation and management won't even let you cancel a vacation week if you want to. Some already have two weeks vacation scheduled back to back....now that really hurts.

Next up is sick time paid at 50%. Can't afford to take vacation, be sick, retire or even work at US. Not to show disrespect, but soon they will be shaving everyone's head and burning a number into the employees forearms. Enough is enough!!!!

I agree with sick, vacation, and subcontracting issues with possible current US employee furloughs...I'm a No Vote...that is if we get to vote.....

The CWA went and negotiated this item based on 800 random survey calls to members before the first cuts went into effect. It was a flash survey and at first the majority wanted the full vaction time even at a reduced rate. The membership was not given the option to even go back into option 1 giving back the extra week and a half and take the holiday pay ! We asked Betty Wiley whom at the time was in labor relations why we were'nt allowed to get this choice and she replied , " To be honest with you it never came up from either side ( CWA and USAiways ) in the negotiations."

Bobcat, I kindly request that you refrain from using that type of imagery.
