Judge backs US Airways pension change

ALEXANDRIA, Va, March 28 (Reuters) - A federal judge on Friday approved US Airways Group Inc.''s (OTC BB:UAWGQ.OB - News) new pension plan for its pilots, clearing the way for the airline to complete its reorganization and emerge from bankruptcy next week.
Earlier, the federal government''s Pension Benefit Guaranty Corp. approved the new, cheaper pilot pension plan that will cover nearly 4,000 active and furloughed pilots.
