US Airways Restores VIP Service After Kennedy Calls, Post Says
By Claire Shoesmith
Arlington, Virginia, Nov. 22 (Bloomberg) -- US Airways Group Inc. reinstated its executive service that enables important travelers to bypass the crowds at Reagan National Airport, after a phone call from Senator Edward Kennedy, the Washington Post said, citing the airline.
The airline, which filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection in August, canceled the service Oct. 29 and then reinstated it two weeks later after the telephone call, the paper said.
According to Kennedy''s spokeswoman, Stephanie Cutter, he made the call in an attempt to rescue the jobs of two women who operated the service, not to save his perks, the Post reported.
US Airways, which plans to emerge from bankruptcy in March, said it restored the service after hearing several complaints.

uhh ,err, can't Mr Chappaquidic(sp?) afford his own plane? Then Mr. 300 pounder can bypass the little people all he wants.

SO all that you have to do is drive you rcar off a bridge, leave some girl to die, and you get influence for teh rest of your life? WHere do I sign up?

Seriously, I thought it hilarious that his spokesperson specifically claims he did it to save the two women's jobs, and not so he can bypass the lines. That part made me laugh so hard that I spit some hot coffee through my nose. Ouch.

This is an old joke but I still think it funny:

Reagan, Nixon, Ted Kennedy and Joseph Biden are all on a boat that is sinking. Nixon runs to the life boat and says we have to get off this thing fast!

To which Reagan replies: Hang on Dick, we need to get the women and children off here first.

Nixon then says, aw screw the women and children

Which peaked Teddys' interest and he says: Do we have time?

For which the serial plagerist Biden says: Do we have time?

Why doesn't Teddy just drive instead, like everyone else appears to be doing these days? Oh wait, I forgot, Teddy's driving record can be hazardous to your health. Or he could swim instead. We all know how good he is at that!

Reminds me of the time when I was still a CSA for TWA at JFK. Good ole' Teddy was flying to Lisbon. Like most VIP's he was waiting out the time before boarding in the Ambassador Club. When I called the club to send up everyone they had because we were boarding, the female club receptionist had to physically escort Teddy arm in arm up the flight-wing tunnel and to the gate because somebody had a bit too much to drink and could barely walk. Gotta love it.

Magsau,

That is a great joke! Ya know, it's nice to finally see some comic relief ease the tension on this board. I'm still laughing at some of these comments.

Another genius move by the Coneheads in CCY. Pull the rug on the guys who are going to vote on your loan. And here you thought only Republicans require special handling. Atta boy Teddy.

MrMarky,

With all due respect, I think your post was a slight over-reaction. A little comic relief never hurt anyone. I have nothing but the highest respect for JFK and RFK. Teddy, however, is another story, entirely. I knew you were a Democrat, but a Kennedy apologist, too? Sacre bleu!!!

Senator Kennedy has done more for organized labor and the working men and women of America than all the other 99 Senators combined.

His efforts to secure quality health care for the 40+ million working Americans with no health insurance would ease a terrible burden for millions of hard-working American families. We are the only western industrialized nation that places such a burden on our workers.

His work to make a quality education obtainable and affordable to ALL Americans, so that all can compete on a level playing field and in an increasingly competitive global economy would do more for our national security than the Pentagon can ever do.

And the list goes on...

Senator Kennedy has lost three brothers whose lives were sacrificed in service to our country, and our country is a better place for the service they gave.

Show a little respect.

Puhleeze, the guy was/is a repetitive adulterer and a slobbering lush, just like his other 2 brothers were. And additionally responsible for a womans death 30 years ago.. As far as I am concerned, what good you might do in your public life is often negated ,or at least, tarnished,by the sins of your private life. He and Billy Bob are 2 of a kind.
I used to have the utmost respect and admiration for his family long ago, especially Jfk's 2 kids, one sadly no longer with us. Can't say I feel the same for all of them now.

Your tasteless, classless, immature and ignorant remarks do not dignify a response. They serve only as irrefutable evidence that they were authored by a complete imbecile.

Mr Marky;
Your RIGHT !

I would'nt be surprised if CS-pro walked into the voting booth(in 2000), and mumbled, I'm going to get even with Bill Clinton, and voted for Dumbya

The trouble with that rational was, THAT CLINTON WASNT EVEN RUNNING
