Comair Urges 'Extreme Caution' In Ky.
Comair has begun warning pilots to use "extreme caution" when navigating runways at the airport where a crash killed 49 people last month, saying some diagrams aren't accurate.

Whether the charts and maps are accurate has nothing to do with preventing that horrible tragedy.
All the crew had to do was look at their compass. That would have told them everything they needed to know.
Oh, or notice that they were aiming down a darkened runway - a quick call to the tower along the lines of "Hey, Tower - why's the runway dark - can you turn on the lights for us?" would have prevented a horrific tragedy.
When you fly carelessly, people die. Needlessly. 🙁

Well let's close the NTSB investigation this case has been Sol-ved! An accident is not one item. You yourself mentioned at least two causal factors. How about finding the other factors that led to this accident and prevent others from making the same mistakes.

dont' forget that the runway lights on the longer runway were INOP and were listed on the NOTAMS.
