Just heard on Global BC that a heli went missing in the Prince Rupert area. Anybody have more details?

Word is, Lakelse air.

They left our industrial site here in town at 1pm yesterday southbound for Kumeleon inlet( a logging camp) in a R22. Usually the logging foremans ride.

Reported missing this morning with the coast guard dispatched to have a look. That's it so far. Hopefully a positive end. Weather was windy here yesterday(up to 20-30 knts), a bit dicey in a 22.

We'll see what turns up. Fingers crossed

Just got off the phone with someone more in the know. They found something near the camp and doesn't sound good at this time. All 2nd and 3rd hand info via marine radio evesdropping. 🙁

Not good. The machine was found near the camp and there where no survivors. I believe the pilot was alone but not positive.

I new the man myself and we've lost another great person.

May he RIP.

🙁 Just made some calls as i know these guys from my loggin days in Terrace.

Machine crashed yesterday but ELT didn't go off

The pilot from the coast was alone , god rest his soul....

Understandably the company owners are terribly shook up

Prayers all around 🙁

my condolences to the family and friends...............

may God grant them His peace....................

Yes, many condolences.
Is it possible for anyone in the know to PM the name of the pilot. I have some friends in that neck of the woods.
Thanks.

I spent a little over three years in the Terrace/Rupert area. Very beautiful, but very unforgiving due to fog combined with the snow this time of the year. My deepest sympathies to the folks at Lakelse Air and the camp. That's not far from where we lost Dwayne 18 months ago.

I would like to send my condolences out to the family, and God will put his loveing arms around them in this time of sorrow.

From here in Singapore condolences to his family, friends and all those who knew him. Never knew him personally but he is one of the brotherhood of helicopter aviators, and thats good enough. May he rest in peace.

Heli Ops 🙁
