MAGA - one job loss after a tax cut at a time

Surprise! Seems the import tariffs did not stop people from buying foreign cars. But then, the Donald never seemed to understand that his tariffs did not apply to most "foreign" cars because they are built in the United States. Mercedes-Benz has a huge plant in south Alabama (of all places). I saw one news article that said the Donald is furious at GM for closing plants and stopping the manufacture of several sedans. The fact that no one was buying them is of no interest to the Donald. His corporate tax cuts and tariffs were supposed to generate interest in those cars by making them cheaper. Have you ever seen a car manufacturer lower the price of a car other than at the end of the model year when they have a huge parking lot of unsold cars?

Billy Jo Jim Bob doesn't know that they are paying for the tariffs through increased cost of goods.

OKay....so the masses didn't lose their jobs. Just Trump voters in two key states lost their jobs after voting for a guy who promised JOBS JOBS JOBS. That was after the big corporate tax cut that was passed to "create jobs". AND....I haven't seen any reports of $1,000 bonuses this year (the first year the tax cut was in place) like we did LAST year about this time (before the tax cut took effect). I thought the second "good news" part of the corporate tax cut was that current employees would get MORE in their paychecks. But they haven't. And now they don't even get a ham for a bonus. MAGA.

Certain lines have not been producing sales while others, like trucks have.

DUH

Six years ago, President Barack Obama promised to buy a Chevy Volt after his presidency.

Don't be too sure about the masses. At some point the economy has to "correct the excessive exuberance" of the past few years (that started in the Obama era. Trump has nothing to do with it.) It's the way free market economies operate--sometimes up, sometime down.
I reiterate...the only way Donald can Make America Great Again is to sign an executive order outlawing pre-shredded cheese.

The government does not create wealth or jobs that benefit the economy. All they can do is collect less taxes from private employers and hope they invest the money into something that results in job growth.

You want the government to mandate, regulate, and control everything?

Worked in Russia.

It's become quite obvious America's love for electronic toys overrides the tariffs. They don't really give a hoot....where's my iPhoney?

True enough...that's how the market operates. But what about the second part of my post? This time last year (when the tax cut passed but wasn't in effect) comanies were dealing out obligatory $1.000 bonuses to their employees. Happy days are here again...see what Trump got you? This year - I don't see any bonuses (excepting executive bonuses). How come. THIS is the year were the companies actually HAVE more money because of the tax cuts. Why no bonuses?

Well, you see the tax cut sent the money directly to the executives. Unfortunately there is none left for the common folk. Maybe next year after we get the wall paid for.

(that started in the Obama era) I always liked Obama's GDP growth rate figures.

Quick math - what was the unemployment rate in January 2009? What was the unemployment rate in January 2017. Now...what is the current unemployment rate? Which one say a greater reduction in the unemployment numbers?

Extra credit...the the average flyover red state voter - how much did they care about the GDP growth - then OR now?
