Add to that:
SAN, SFO, OAK, SJC, DEN, DFW, SEA
ATL, DTW, BOS, PHL

could be missing one or two but that is about it.

And the layoffs of already started for the HP mechanics at BWI. Way to go Doug Parker.

The HP Tech layoffs in BWI was not due to the merger, but because of the 757 ETOPS program, and the transfer of A-Checks to the west. The BWI Techs new about this even before the merger, and were offered other locations to transfer to.

I also heard that BWI techs one night performed some type of job action, so managment was just looking for a way to cut staffing. Then the A check on the 757 got pulled.

What he said is true. HP has not had a layoff in years. Not even during 9/11. When we closed Tuscon and Columbus everyone got offered to go elsewhere. If they didn't want to take it they left the company. Same with BWI. We have known that was happening for awhile now.

Thank you menyou for your clarrification. I assume you are an HP partner? Welcome to the US side of the board and prepare to read some of the most pessemistic responses to any subject you could bring up. It won't be the last time Doug Parker is blamed for anything. It doens't matter how good he does, he won't be good enough for some.

If they couldn't or wouldn't take a transfer, then it is a layoff. They received unemployment, job counseling, and access to a grief counselor provided by the company.

Not that it matters much. By the time we get dovetailed we will all be laid off anyways. If you guys get to bring back furloughed employees, then there will be no HP mechanics left.
