What's new

Management & future prospects

let's get this out in the open, the reason this company can't compete is that they continue to run away from the competition. BWI, DCA,PIT, ect. Usairways management ran away with their tails between their legs and never put up a fight. All those cars in the parking lot in Pit and management says there is no business there. What, are those people shopping at the mall? that is why Southwest is there to pick up our business. Ask Southwest why they are so successful and i'll bet their management team says , thank you UsAirways. If you keep pulling flights away from a base, your going to lose money. Any idiot knows that, all but Doug and his management team.

My what a short memory.

Let's get it straight and in the open-the old U had no problem w/ running away from SWA and closing bases.

See closing SFO,SAN and LAX(who else did I miss?) and the part about paying $300 million for PSA.

It was described as a "classic example of how to close down an airline"

They sure knew how to do things in those days.

It even had a name:"Project High Ground".

This is nothing new except for the part that it reached PIT.

Jeez-if it isn't from the mid-atlantic states it didn't happen.

We have our largest base in CLT for crying out loud.

What airline do you work for?

Unfortunately no.

But blaming the front line for downsizing PIT is ignorant
No blame.

I can tell you this because I've been there. Consider yourself lucky if you are still there.

The crew bases are gone-"en todo".

Welcome to my world.

(Thank you for more than a two letter response.)

What did the good Dr. let slip?
Oh my god, that man had the biggest most ignorant mouth (and nose) I had ever had the pure displeasure of hearing. Whoof!!! when they took that money from the RSA instead of Texas Pacific I had a bad feeling. Doesn't anybody remember that comment during what I think was the second round of cuts (or maybe the third, it's all a blur now) when he was on the front page of the paper saying that "if they won't take the cuts, I'll just Chapter 7 it". "It" oooh that just makes my blood boil everytime I think of it. I'll never forget where I was when I heard it, working that 0530 flight from PHL-CLT, of course full and during pre-board one of the passengers handed me the paper and said me "you should see this".
