md10

That is actually a good question.
The answer will be given to you as was to me from the assistant chief pilot:
All the DC10-10's that fedex owns, or may lease, will go through the conversation. However, not all of the -30's will be converted. The company owned yes, but the few that are leased may not. The leasers are not so excited about it since there is still somewhat of a market for a -30 out there and they would like to keep there options open. So the last thing the leaser would want is to have fedex hand over to them a plane that is a one of a kind that isn't operated by anybody else.
BUT....once a DC10 is converted it is a WONDERFUL machine that is actually extremely reliable and cake to work on. If you have ever worked on DC-10's and you are aware of the handful of pilot reports in the log book after every fight, like the every going auto pilot/land, pneumatic manifold failures, hydraulic problems, anti-skid, generator paralleling, and so on. Well, you can toss all of that out of the window now that it's an MD10.

One more thing on the side note. Slowly but surely, all of the MD10's are also having there main brakes and tires converted to the same as the MD11.....bye bye iron and hello carbon!!!
