United Announces Significant Service Expansion From Chicago O'Hare and Washington Dulles

CHICAGO, Jul 20, 2004 /PRNewswire-FirstCall via COMTEX/ -- Beginning this fall and winter, United and United Express will introduce daily nonstop service in several markets from its Chicago O'Hare and Washington Dulles hub airports. The flight expansion increases United's breadth of service to cities where customer demand for air service is growing.
For Chicago O'Hare, the new daily service to six destinations will bring the total number of markets served nonstop by United and United Express to 134. Combined, United and United Express serve the most markets of any airline from Chicago O'Hare.
From Washington Dulles, new daily nonstop roundtrips to five cities will bring the total United and United Express markets served to 81, which is more than double the markets served by our nearest competitor at Dulles.

Service Expansion
From Chicago O'Hare, United on Oct. 4, 2004, will offer two daily nonstop roundtrip flights to Albuquerque, N.M., and Tucson, Ariz., as well as one daily flight to Palm Springs, Calif., with seasonal service through April 2005. United Express carrier SkyWest also will add regional jet service from O'Hare to Edmonton, Canada, with two daily nonstop flights. In time for holiday travel, United on Dec. 16, 2004, will increase service to Aruba from Chicago O'Hare with one daily roundtrip, replacing the Saturday-only service.
From Washington Dulles, also effective on Oct. 4, 2004, United Express carriers will operate three daily roundtrips to Memphis, Tenn., and Wilkes-Barre/Scranton, Pa., and two daily roundtrip flights to Milwaukee. The Memphis and Milwaukee flights will be operated by Air Wisconsin, and Shuttle America will operate the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton, Pa., service. Then on Oct. 17, 2004, United Express carrier Chautauqua Airlines begins nonstop service between Washington Dulles and Houston with two daily roundtrips, adding a third daily flight beginning on Oct. 31, 2004.
Finally, effective Feb. 15, 2005, United Express carrier Air Wisconsin will introduce regional jet service to Myrtle Beach, S.C., with two daily flights from Chicago O'Hare and four daily flights from Washington Dulles.
All new flights open for sale today, except Myrtle Beach flights, which open for sale on Thursday, July 22.
