Can someone from CO Mx comment? IIRC, wasn't the wear strip that fell off a non-standard item and improperly installed? If the CO aircraft had crashed in the US as a result, I'm sure that the lawyers would be all over CO and the Mx provider (again, IIRC, wasn't the engine work outsourced) for damages, injuries etc.?

Just because it didn't affect the CO aircraft, but caused the damage to the Concorde, aren't Bethune and co being more than a bit disingenuous by trying to claim its just like any other piece of runway debris? How often do aircraft drop sizable clumps of metal on a runway during take-off?
