Frank Shifano and the IAM has requested that Govenor Jeb Bush move the entire Florida orange crop to Pittsburgh. Frank was quoted as saying " The state has the right to send the trees to any base they like but obviously we'd like it to be Pittsburgh." Frankie went on to say "Sunkist could save a fortune on the cost of freezing their products here." :huh:

Whatever you are trying to say with this confusing joke (perhaps you can explain it to us), I stand in solidarity with mechanics. No farming out of airbus heavy maintenance.

To paraphrase someone else... "It's the contract, stupid!"

But I guess contracts are documents of convience to this management. Iron clad word of God Himself when it suits them, irrelevant obstacles to survival when contract language doesn't suit them.

😉 What Frank said was: this work belongs to the IAM. The company can tell us where to do it, Alabama, Alaska where ever, Pittsburgh would be nice. But the company can decide where to do it. Just as long as they know it's IAM US work.
