When ANY A/C disaster's occur, it makes NO difference what "paint job" is on the fuselage, we(then) are all in it together.

The ONLY question I have, and I'm sure the FAA will have, Plus Delta Management will have,.....is why the pilot of the DL 757, was NOT on the JFK frequency, after Westbury LI. "handed him off"

Others FAR MORE knowledgeable than I, may already have the answer.

FWIW,

Pretty simple I'm sure and it's probably one of the following:

1. Pilot was initially given the wrong frequency (believe me, it happens!)
or
2. Pilot mis-hears the frequency and initially tunes in a wrong freq and then spends precious seconds trying to establish contact on the correct freq.

In this instance I feel the crew exercised very good judgement in going around once it became obvious that they'd be compromising safety by pressing the approach. Well done Delta!!

Cheers,
