I am really interested in becoming a flight attendant BUT there is one tiny problem that concerns me and that''s my weight. I am overweight right now (currently losing and going to the gym, but still overweight). My question is, should I wait until I look like Jenny Jones, or could I apply while looking like a (med) Oprah?? How flexible is the weight issue???

You must have some extra time on your hands, comparing yourself to daytime talk tv hosts. :D
I thought I was the only one....

The weight issue is pretty much a non issue these days. It's all in how you present yourself. I'm not being flip when I say, the airlines may draw the line at being morbidly obese, just being large is not a reason to turn someone away.

Congratulations on your efforts to lead a healthier lifestyle.

OK. Is it that obvious? --I'm on vacation. Staying home this week. Went to Vegas last week and realized I was getting myself sick being stuck behind a desk, fighting traffic everyday in the 9-5 routine. Then after numerous suggestions from people that know me well, I decided to try and pursue a career as a FA.

I never really thought about it before because I thought you had to be model perfect but after talking to some people I realized I have a chance.

Thank you for the congratulations. I feel really good right now. Even gave up a life long addiction of Coke (Coca-Cola of course [img src='http://www.usaviation.com/idealbb/images/smilies/12.gif']). Haven't had a drop of the stuff in 2 months!! Never thought that could happen.....

I'll keep you all posted on quest. Hopefully I'll have good news soon [img src='http://www.usaviation.com/idealbb/images/smilies/1.gif']
