New city annoncement tomorrow:

http://biz.yahoo.com/pz/040307/53783.html

It is not the LaGuardia service, since it mentions JFK specificly. Wonder what it can be...random guesses:

San Antonio, Texas
Phoenix, Arizona
Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic
Aguadilla, Puerto Rico
Ponce, Puerto Rico
Miami, Florida

All of the following have been tossed around in the media lately. Neelman himself said that they are strongly looking at Miami after first ruling it out, because a lot of Miami customers who fly jetBlue out of Lauderdale are asking for Miami service to make it easier for them.

JFK-DFW? Perish the thought. That's the one New York route that we currently hold exclusively.

Whoever mentioned anything about DFW-JFK?

Also, American is not the only carrier on DFW-JFK. Delta flies the route too.

Two routes AA does hold exclusively to NYC are MIA-LGA and MIA-JFK, though that is only in airport pair, not city pair, since there is a plethora of more airlines on the route from FLL/PBI.

I am going with ORD/MDW. If you are bringing in the Gov. and a Sen., then it must be big. I don't think they would come for a press conference for, say, 3 or 4 flights a day to PHX. It would have to be something like 10 flights a day to ORD/MDW. Or an outside chance or more international service, maybe LGW. not...

Why should that be a reason. Last year, Neelman said at the stock holders meeting that one of the top three questions he gets from passengers is "When are you going to fly out of Long Island / Islip". His reply was that it was to close to JFK to do and he did not think it was that much for passengers to travel the extra hour to JFK from Long Island.

Mark, I know it's hard for you to fathom, but there are bases other than MIA. There have been rumors in Dallas for at least a year that JetBlue was going to start DFW-JFK service.

Also, maybe you need to get some new travel brochures. At this time, according to Orbitz and Travelocity, AA is the ONLY airline providing non-stop service on the DFW-JFK route.

Delta doesn't fly DFW-JFK? Then what is this...

DL 4506 DFW 1145-1602 JFK Daily CR7 N/S
DL 4506 JFK 1720-2030 DFW Daily CR7 N/S

Maybe you need to start using reservation/timetable systems like Amadeus and OAG to check schedules, instead of consumer systems like Orbitz and Travelocity.

I misunderstood what you said. The way I took your post was that JFK-DFW would never happen, after all, you said yourself, "perish the thought." After jetBlue's experiment at Atlanta, it is pretty obvious that they are going to avoid megahubs like Atlanta and Dallas, despite showing strong interest in Dallas in the past.

I am betting on an announcement about an expansion of caribbean service, including BQN, and PUJ, I also am expecting an announcement of PHX service. I think this announcement will also unviel the airlines plans for a new terminal at the airport, becuase so many state and airport official will be attending. Can't wait to see what happens.

if recent history serves. my guess would include those that are not mentioned, since rumours of SJC, MIA, LGA (not really a rumor),ORD,DFW,PHX and Carrib.

i say look for another curveball, where you end up scratching your head saying wow didnt see that coming but after you think about it you go, yeah that could work (in the sense of probably gonna fill the plane and keep the cost down with a long enough stage length).

hmmmmm what fits that bill......
AUS
IAH
TUS
RNO

but then with the GOV there could it be someplace else in the Empire state???
like maybe
ALB

just a guess

😀

Well, if you prefer a little bitty jet as opposed to a S80, then by all means fly DL4506--a CRJ operated by ASA as Delta Connection.

AA has the only full-size jet flying the route with a choice of departure times. DL is once a day.

CR7 or not, that does not change the fact that Delta Airlines offers daily non-stop service between Dallas and JFK and that American Airlines is not the only carrier on the route.

Between hubs and New York City, STL-LGA, MIA-LGA and MIA-JFK are the only two they don't compete on directly.

The announcements were made. Increase in service to San Juan, new service to BQN, PR. New service to Santo Domingo and Santiago, both in the Dominican Republic.

Oh, as if a Super 80 and a CRJ-700 are even that far apart in size. The Super 80 is not all that much bigger. The point he was trying to make, is that AA is not the *only carrier* serving the two airports... no one brought up which equipment served the route.
