Its been a while, funny though last time JBLU reduced flights (atl) suddenly new cities were announced. wondering if SAN is because of PHX? or is there news a coming????????

either way fun to speculate no?

😛h34r:

Nassau, Bahamas will be announced today (3 August). Daily 320 from JFK.

A320 will make it from long beach to honolulu.... u was thinking JFK? LOL ...definatelly that will be a great route for B6

If jetBlue were to launch service from Hawaii it would be best to start from OAK which is closer to Honolulu than LGB is. It is also the shortest one-stop flight from JFK. Redeye flights to Hawaii from the west coast would work the same way for aircraft utilization rates and daily scheduling as they do for current red eyes to the west coast from JFK. The marignal seat-mile costs on such flights would be low enough to make these profitable for jetBlue even in this low yielding market. It surely cannot be any worse than Florida or the current transcon markets. The biggest stumbling block will be acquiring 180 minute ETOPS certification (and finding crew hotels in Honolulu).

JFK-OAK = 2576nm

OAK-HNL = 2409nm

Total = 4985nm

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
JFK-LGB = 2465nm
LGB-HNL = 2569nm
Total = 5034nm
BTS just put out a report on airfares in the first quarter. Several HI cities had the largest increases - double digit year over year.
Report
I think there might be still another city coming (announced) this year so i put it to you again where do you think it will be?????????????????????
MIA from JFK and BOS. Easy station to open...they don't need to market anything, since they already have their second largest customer base in South Florida.
Their new LGA service shows that they won't be ignoring the more congested airports, because they know that there are still customers that perfer them due to nothing more than their location.
MIA is definitly in the works, and makes a lot of sense.
Is MIA that congested still?
MIA would be a great city for us from JFK and BOS .. really hope it works out. (It would also work out for newly hired FAs and Pilots since a lot of training is in Miami).
Jetblue needs to expand it IAD & BOS operations to a full west coast & Florida schedule. Then expand more JFK to the caribean, Barbados & St. Maarten would be nice. Since JB likes red eyes they could have the first totally dark flihgt to BGI, imagine leaving Jfk at 2:00AM arrive at BGI for breakfast.
Miami would be expensive to fly from, according to the Miami Herald, it costs $4.XX per passenger at FLL but $14.xx at MIA. I would prefer more servcie from PBI, say to Boston. Hartford, Connecticut would also love the the JB treatment.
MIA is congested inside. They are basiclly building a brand new airport on top of the old one, so it is one big huge messy construction site full of mazes and construction walls. The work will be done around late 2007/early 2008. It makes it really a pain for customers, although the new airport is going to be great when it opens.
I really want them to open up MIA already. I fly jetBlue often, but living in downtown Miami, making the drive/paying the cab to Lauderdale doesn't always work out for me. And MIA is a virtual Lowfare free zone. That's why AA loves it so much. AA only has LCC compietition on two routes: MIA-ATL and MIA-LAS (and indirectly on MIA-CHI, since they fly to ORD and ATA to MDW).
