What's new

New management appointments for PHL

They want leadership. They're so thirsty for it they'll crawl through the desert toward a mirage, and when they discover there's no water, they'll drink the sand.

As they say in Phl, they ain't better be drinking no kool-aid!

Can't they just bring a group of seniors in that know how to run an airline?

This new dude has no clue about what he is about to come into!

And it just keeps on falling..........US Airways Group Inc (LCC) $10.89 -0.12 -1.09%. Do I hear $10.00 ... OK $8.00 ... OK $7.50 ... OK $5.00 ... SOLD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 😛h34r:

I worked in PHL many many Moons ago, in the days of Tom Renville, John Callfield, Lee Weitz and many many more.
PHL is unique in itself. The people are a differnet breed from the rest of the airline. My opinion is that since my time
US Airways has not been able to provide anyone of any stature that can work with the people of PHl. What US Airways needs
to do is bring in someone from PHL that understands the climate and the people, instead of bring in others from outside of
with this we do it this way in CLT, PHX, etc.
I really beleive that these new people coming in will be eaten alive and spit out, because they will not understand and
will have the same old ways that have not work with other management that has tried to tame PHL.
Good luck PHL

Dont be suprised at the new management...neither of them are from the OLD US or America West. I have a feeling from what I have heard from those who worked at NWA that your in for a rude awakening and be prepared to see many folks be shown the door with walking papers when they fail to step up to the plate.

Guess that could be a good thing to change the negative attitude lingering around PHL.?

I think we all know there are MANY areas where some folks should be "shown the door", PHL isn't the only place.

Speaking of stepping up the the plate, Ms. Shambles hasn't exactly "stepped up to the plate" now has she? Maybe this means she will have more time to ride her horses? 😉

That is not true. Every person has something that motivates them. For some it's quite simple. MONEY is the be all and end all of why they work.

Bob, with all due respect, the person you just described had no place in aviation. I don't mean that as a put down, not at all. Simply this industry is just NOT where the money is, nor likely to ever be again. Every single one of us who are in this biz can make more money in another industry, period. If someone is "all about the Benjamin’s" that's fine. There is nothing wrong with that, it does NOT make them any lesser than anyone else. What it does mean is they need to go where the money is. Frankly after all the changes we have been through, after all the nonsense, I can only think of one reason to still stay. It isn't money, it isn't seniority, and we all know it isn't the security. So what is it? Simply a genuine love of aviation, nothing else. If someone does not genuinely love the industry, if this is not what they have always wanted to do then they need to move on. Not for my sake, but for their own. So, back to where we started if the only thing that motivates someone is money and they are still in this business they need to seriously consider a good career counselor because they have made some poor decisions.

Just a new executive from a bad airline looking for more money to complete her log cabin in the woods. I say, buy her a hammer and send her home. You would think she would have the decency to walk through her new airport, instead she opts to meet with all her managers in a big conference hall in Tempe last week. That my friends is a bad sign for all PHL employees. My advise to all the employees in Philly, watch eachothers back, Hatchet Suzie is not bringing her hammer to our station. Take care and God speed!

I was introduced to Ciminelli and Boda today but not alone....They were being
escorted around by the existing management team along with Gratham ( the out going
phl mgr.)...Gratham greeted many people thanking them for the opportunity to work
with them but after walking away nearly everyone asked '' Who was that ?''...The current
management was typically kissing a#@..and ''yes'in them up and down''. They will never
know how to fix PHL or at least help it run better without talking to the workers. Now, before
people say we should speak up...we've done that before and have been ignored. It's up to them
to take the first step and sit down with some of the workers from each area they need to improve
on.......and thats'all over, especially the Int'l ( $$) side. We need help at Domestic but Int'l makes
alot of money and this upcoming summer it is going to fall apart....just ask someone who works
over there, I did, and it doesn't look good.
