More appropriately should read:
"Bomboclatt Mon! US Airways Announces Nonstop Service from Phoenix to Montego Bay, Jamaica"

It's been done by Air Jamaica in the past and failed.

Though Air Jamaica failed in their attempt to offer PHX-MBJ service I'm sure the employees at Rio Dorito crunched the numbers. With the originators out of PHX coupled with double connection passengers and potential passengers I can see it working. I bet if it does well we'll see a few other carribean destinations from PHX.

More specifically an East 319 EOW. West has no EOW aircraft.

Yes we do. There just not A319/320's. Which to me is a safety issue do to all the places west metal flies close to water. What if the sully splashdown happened in a west aircraft? What if some of those people couldn't swim? There's no excuse to NOT have ALL the west aircraft EOW equiped.
