These new travel restrictions being implemented by the new regime is going to kill the airlines , it will cause further flights to be cut and more employee reductions
There now is more likely going to be multiple bankruptcies
With all of this testing these restrictions seem pointless to me.
I’ve also read the CDC is now considering putting in similar restrictions for domestic travel.
So much for a summer recovery

I think the industry has a made a huge tactical mistake. They should be pushing good science and good data analysis to return society to normal as soon as possible instead of embracing some new normal (based mostly on misinformation and fear) that will destroy the industry.

Speaking of travel restrictions. What does this message send out to the general public?

So Healthcare workers and officials are all warning to not travel during this pandemic and yet they are advertising that they are sending 7500 "HEATHCARE WORKERS" to Super Bowl in Tampa. What were these dum-a$$es thinking?? This just sends out a message to the general public that it's perfectly OK to travel during this pandemic.
It's the exact same thing as those leaders and officials that said stay home and don't go out in large numbers and yet he we all saw Cali leaders who called for doing the exact opposite of what they said and doing it with no mask on what-so-ever.
Now would you wanna be one of the "HEALTHCARE WORKERS" going AGAINST what health officials and health workers are warning against?? Think about it. Would you want to be one of those given a SB ticket and get put up on the jumbotron TV for your mug to be plastered all over America?? I wouldn't. And some hospitals and health care providers might take it as not following proper protocol and you could possibly get fired from your healthcare job. THINK before you accept those tickets folks...

with these new travel restrictions does that include all the new dreamers walking across the border in the caravan? or just to people that fly and pay taxes?

My understanding is these folks have all been vaccinated and also they are all from Florida so no air travel

So I just read the fool in the Whitehouse is considering mandatory testing for domestic flying.
Why don’t we just shut all the airlines down until the whole damn world has been vaccinated
I hope the 80 million people who voted for this idiot are happy

Agree, that domestic testing would all but shut down the airlines. Common sense and seeing past the nose on their faces has never been DC's strong suit.

Maybe the whole industry should shut down for a day, just to show what it would be like

This is apparently what we're supposed to believe a majority of Americans voted for. Enjoy another year of lockdowns....

I ran into an acquaintance the other day, that I had not seen in years. She seemed not particularly concerned with the virus but very concerned with her job being eliminated because of it, I was about the get into why we must open everything up, when she started talking about her 8 year old daughter. She mentioned that she hadn't been out of the house since late March and that she would not be returning to school into this is completely gone. Her daughter has no health issue, but she is scared to death that she will die. I tried to explain to her the facts that her daughter had almost zero risk and she went crazy, including crying. She is 100% scared to death of this virus and that is 100% on the media for lies, misinformation and meaningless data without context. Her daughter is suffering real harm, no contact with friends, no school due to something that is less risky than dozens of things she never worried about previously and probably won't going forward. I think this women is something like 15-20% of the population and airlines (restaurants, sport, entertainment too) are doomed until these brainwashed people somehow get convinced it is safe to resume normal life.

Doesn't matter that they have been vaccinated. Sure, THEY may not get the virus since THEY are vaccinated, however, does the vaccination kill the virus or simply block it in their body, and can these "high risk" healthcare workers (high risk since they are taking care of covid positive patients day in and day out for 12 -24 hours at a time) still carry it and transmit it to others in very crowded venues? Remember the virus can live longer than they thought. Does the vaccinations stop high risk healthcare workers from spreading the still alive virus from them to others??? Think about it. Yea they may be safe from getting the virus but what if they are still able to transmit it? Transfer it??

It is good none are getting on the airlines and all from Florida. Glad they won't be getting on airplanes, but how about all those KC folks traveling in for the game?
Now I am no specialist, but does anyone know the answer? If vaccinated can they still carry it and transfer it to others? A valid question I would think.
