American Airlines 'Insources' Maintenance Work

All Things Considered, December 7, 2006 · Worker input has allowed American Airlines to redesign its maintenance efforts, making operations efficient enough that the company is doing work for other airlines, including four from South America.

Did the program happen to mention the Huge Management Bonuses due right after the first of the year?

Did they mention how many thousands of jobs have been cut through attrition?

What about the bread and butter on the table? Any mention of when the worker might get some?

I love how the media, the union and the company are acting like this is something new. AA has been doing contract work for other carriers for years. It was only during Crandalls term and the expansion period that AA did not have the capacity to do work for other carriers.
