Obama said he wasn't going to raise taxes for people under $250,000k. However we all know that he plans on back-dooring tax increases across the board. This thread is to highlight those increases as they happen.

EXTRA fees get under the skin of all but the most zen travellers. First you pay one price for your ticket, and then they tack on a bunch more in taxes and fees? Outrageous! But if the American government's "Aviation Passenger Security Fee", currently at $2.50 for each leg of travel, is already annoying you, the Obama administration has some bad news: it won't be staying at $2.50 for long.

Part of Obama's tax increases may affect the Airline industry directly. In his new budget proposal, he puts in language to increase the $2.50 fee per segment that a pax pays for TSA [security]. Although the fee is not defined, based on the wording, experts say that it could mean the $2.50 fee goes to $8.00 fee for each segment. So a RT with one connection would then be $32 by 2012.
