I believe in a very literal interpretation of the constitution *as it stands*.
Most of the *living breathing interpretation* comments I hear are made by people trying to justify changes without going through the amendment process. If you want to change how an article has been interpreted for 100 years, write an amendment, don’t just say ‘the interpretation is old, we’re going to say it means _____ now.’

I'm not so sure about this...most of the "angry white men" who owns firearms and will pick up a gun to defend their homes views only amendment number 2 as being interpreted literally. There are quite a few of these same angry white men who had absolutely no problem with amendments 4 and 5 being treated as a "living document" to "protect us from terrorists". Ah...but when you crack the door to treating the constitution as a "living document"...you've opened it wide for another to view amendment 2 as a "living document" to "protect us" from something.

Agreed! Let's let allow Congress to make/change laws or the constitution, as congress is up for relection every so often. It is not the role of the court to make/change laws or the constitution.

Isn't he the guy who openly makes judgments and comments on issues that are likely to be heard by the USSC? Nothing like a judge who render an opinion before hearing the case.

It is probably not the wisest of ideas, but it pales in comparison to what some federal judges do while they are actually on the bench.
