The decision by ALPA NWAIR MEC Pilot group to NOT HONOR the MECHANICS STRIKE @ NWAIR is FLAWED ................................
All ORGANIZED LABOR in this Country has a vested interest in this battle, like it or not, admit it or not.
GOOD LUCK and GOD BLESS the STRIKERS,

Do you belong to a union?

I ask this not to try and slam you but to illustrate a point I made on another post about how outsiders look at what is going on here and how a loss for AMFA will be observed as a loss for labor.

Flight attendants voted not to honor the mechanics picket line. Organized labor is dead. FAs will regret their decision.

And now?

In the book "The Air Controllers Controversy" Lessons from the Patco strike, they had a copy of "The Patco Strike: Fact and Ficton" handout. Things that were never really covered by the so called "Liberal media". Unitil I read the book I found myself on the weak side of the arguement defending what you guys did. I respect you guys tremendously and often cite it as a defining moment in the decline of labor. Over 20 years have gone by and labor is stil making the same mistakes.

God bless you.

I'll send you a PM in a minute.

well I'd suspect that since the pilots didnt vote to honor the strikers, what will they do if mgmt comes back barking for more concessions? and yet the F/As and ground crews havent even voted on any concessions? what will happen even if they go into ch11? how will the pilots feel then?

The pilots already have what they want and managment will not come back for more concessions because only a fool would do that.

Guess you dont know a thing about NWA's CFO Neal Cohen he presided over two bankruptcies and three rounds of concessions at US.

whats to stop them from coming back to the pilots for round 2 or more? especially givent he oil prices being in the mid $60s. All you got to do is ask a few of the usair folks and they'll tell you what it is like to be thrown around beaten up and placed in the critical care unit while mgmt stolen every nickle and dime not once, not twice but at least 3 times

Someone on the USAir board posted this;

One of the Robber Barons said, "I can hire half the working class to kill the other half for a job."

Still rings true.

FYI – Cohen left with Segal before the 2nd bankruptcy!
