I think NWA should outsource NWA management. I'm sure the execs and mgt teams at successful airlines such as SWA or Jet Blue would be happy to take over the management of NWA for a fraction of the cost of the current mgt team (and THEY know how to make money). Or NWA could start a new company called MGTCO and staff it with young up-and-coming MBAs that are actually interested in running a successful airline. I'm sure they will work for less in order to make a name for themselves in the corporate world. They might actually employ some of the principles taught in better management schools that involve taking care of the employees and fostering teamwork and cohesion. I can't see paying current mgt bonuses to keep their "talent" when they have failed to keep NWA out of bankruptcy. If they are so talented and in such demand, let them go. I'm sure we can find some new blood that can do as well or better. They certainly can't do any worse.

I totally agree. I think we can get some foreign nationals to take over and show how its done. Only in the US do clowns such as Dougie Stealin' command an unreal salary and benefit package for running an airline into the ground.

I have no doubt that one-celled pond scum could do a better job and millions cheaper.

You guys are starting to get the right idea. Hell you might be able to pull the industry out of the gutter yet. Keep in mind this needs to happen with all the work groups. The industry is apparently full of cob-webs that need cleaning out.

I totally agree with EXAF because that is what this whole corporate america needs. OUTSOURCE MGMT NOW!!!!!

When did you become such an expert on the "airline industry" PTO? Considering this is your first stint working within this industry, it's amazing how much "you think" you know.

Keep up Red Tail Bear. In the event you really don't know, I am a quick learner and there isn't much I can't do. Being a newcomer I can look at the whole forest where as all you guys can see is the trees. You guys think management is the key to all your problems, get rid of management and all your problems are solved. I assure you that is not the case. Management does have issues there is no doubt some of those are outside issues that can't be resolved with their hands tied behind their backs. Other issues could be resolved very easily but they are too arrogant to see it. An attitude adjustment must be made on both ends.

NWA has a good thing going here but I am afraid they are going to blow it. They are loosing new hires on a small but steady rate. At the rate they are going in a year maybe two AMFA will have a vote here for representation, they will win this vote if NWA doesn't get its act together soon. It will be interesting to watch this unfold.

Yeah PK,

I can't wait for the 4th quarter NWA losses to come out.

The rest of the NWA employees will have wished they walked, its a ugly road to Chapter 7 on the NWA concession "gravy" train.

Do you guys honestly believe the company will go down or is that wishful thinking. I am sure that it is wishful thinking then you guys would claim a victory for the stagnant labor movement. "Hey!!! Look what we did!!!!!

Do you guys have any idea what the ripple effect would be if just the A-concourse alone was to close down for any length of time at all? Do you guys have any idea at all how many people it would affect that have nothing to do with NWA? You guys claim all this mess about protecting jobs in America and the brotherhood and solidarity but to hell with your neighbor. Who cares, about the thousands of jobs and the families that depend on them as long as NWA sinks. You guys are hypocrites to no end.

Yes, we do have and "idea" of what the ripple effect is caused when an airline is downsized or ceases to exist all together. Many of us has been in the airline industy longer than 5 or so months. Hate to tell you but you current management could care less about you or you coworkers or anybody else involved. Their primary concern is SHAREHOLDERS!!! Read the BK files when they start coming out about who they are not paying, they range from the A/C manufactures to the hotel you are staying at, all the way down to the person who stocks the vending machines! People are already taking a hit!!!

ask some of the restaurants at both PHL and PIT why they wont accept any usair vouchers?? that is because they got burned twice in both of the CH11 bankrupt cases.

Your ignorance is blissful to no end AP Tech. Did you know that the Aircraft Manufactures could care less that NWA defaulted on their lease? I am here to tell you they don't care. After this BK NWA is going to replace its entire DC-9 and DC-10 fleet. The Aircraft companies are going to make 10 times the money that they would have with their current contracts. The Aircraft that NWA turns in will be leased out again or sold in a matter of a few months. Hotels? NWA has done business with Radisson and the Westin for years they lease entire floors. These hotels have made tons of money off of NWA and will continue to do so in the future. These hotels could care less about the current loss, they know they have gotten and will continue to make tons of money off of NWA.

So AP Tech quit looking out of the window, get off your arse and do something with your life other than looking like a committed unionized die-hard.

Hate to tell you this but someone always ends up paying!!!! And S*** rolls downhill!! As for leases, the reason they dump them is to negotiate a lowerer lease rate! Those aircraft that are parked will more than likely end up in the bone yard, hate to burst your bubble but not many are interested in leasing "gas guzzlers" these days. After getting burnt many companies will be less likely to extend credit to NWA. As for being a "unionized diehard", I'm far from it.....more likely a realist!!

in another post you said PTO that you havent seen the DC-10s. I thought that they had gotten rid of them since the introduction of the A-330. Someone can better relate to what i'm asking though cause i dont know what NWA flies on international runs besides the 747 series

You are going by the assumption he actually knows the difference between the aircraft?
