One of the main reasons AMR file for bankrtcy was to either terminate or freeze the pensions.
I don't know what is the PBGC think they can get out of this.

Generally, the filing of a bankruptcy petition prohibits collection activity, including the filing of liens. Wonder if Josh is getting competent legal advice?

I believe they filed againist South American assets maybe like TAESL they are not on the list of BK assets.

Yes BK was only filed on certain but not all AMR companies read the first day filing....Some Attorney's were raising red flag's,but nothing from the TWU or other Union's.. So maybe it was nothing.I went back and reviewed the filing and yes it does say certain.

This is crazy! This guy really seems out of control. Did he harass Delta and United like this??

Soo, since only AMR, AA, AE and "certain of its' subsidiaries" filed for BK protection, does anyone know the exact count of the entities that AMR:
1) wholly owns;
2) is a partner to;
3) created a joint venture with;
4) maintains a significant interest in;
5) holds a majority/minority position in?

In that the whole of AMR and all subordinate entities and interests did not/were not file(d) for bankruptcy protection: what is the asset balance of outlying entities tied to AMR that are not encumbered through bankruptcy?

Could that be the reason that AMR has sought permission from the BK Court to encumber, retain, all of the most capable BK Law Firms as a denial of use attack on parties asking the same question?

Generally, off-shore subsideraries are not included in the bankruptcy - it they also needed bankruptcy protection they would file in the country that they're located in. While I'm not positive, I'm pretty sure joint venture partners or any jointly owned businesses/subsidiaries are included in the bankruptcy, certainly not if located off-shore. I have no idea if AMR has any off-shore subsidiaries or how many if they do.

I certainly don't feel we got the best offer that could have been gotten, because we did not push it to the limit.

We are all middle aged, we cannot afford to wait until 2013 to get 'em next time. We must get 'em this time.
