Haven't heard any horror stories on the news yet...I hope that is a good sign.

Anyone have their pulse on the ground in PHL care to share with the rest of us?

There is a report in today's AZ Republic. See the "Way to go Philly" thread. Don't know if the article is representive on how things are really going. Seems to be a small glimpse of one reporter on the ground interviewing a few people, but any good news from a newspaper is good.

From my standpoint on the ground everything is going very well. I can tell you that I had almost 55 bags to run off of a flight yesterday, most of which were extremely hot (their connecting flights were leaving in about 10-15 minutes) and I made sure to get all of them where they needed to go. Even if I had to negotiate with the gate crew to throw them on. I can only imagine someone arriving without a bag that might contain presents or something. I wouldn't want that happening to me!

Now that is true Christmas spirit, and speaks of an attitude that I hope is going to be more common around here in 2006 than it was in 2005.

Your hustle is not only appreciated by the customers we serve, but by all of us at US Airways that aren't looking at your contract with a magnifying glass. . Thank you Jonnyd and to all the folks taking care of our passengers.

I love that the measuring stick of success for this airline is not completely focking everything up to he11. Way to go LCC.

It's a good starting point to improve upon for our collective futures. Given the situation 3 months ago, not screwing up is a major victory for passengers, employees and management.

Hey, you can argue that Jonnyd is only doing what he's already getting paid to do, but 1) it's still a great attitude, and 2) if every one like Jonnyd performed like he does on every flight, then not only Jonnyd but ALL US employees would at least be $50-$100 better off for it!!!

Still furloughed and still here usair_begins_with_u?

Now THAT is the Christmas spirit! Keep up the good work! Merry Christmas Jonnyd.

Let's hope Jonnyd's attitude is more contagious than the flu!
😉 😉 😉 Yes it is great to hear, but lets HOPE that US mgmt realizes it and commends the employee for his hard work! Thats what the "service " industry is all about. Something US never figured out, until it was to late!

Just a little info on those christmas meals. They actually were pretty good. Walked in the door at 5 PM and SkyChefs was just rolling the cart in. Some people were complaining because it was just like eating food on a plane, but they actually were not that bad at all. Most people prefered the chicken over the ham. The operation also seemed to be going pretty smooth tonight, or at least as good as it could be with the weather we're having here.

Sky Chef? I heard that PHX crew room had Boston Market brought in for the crews and ramp.....Where was Boston Market in PHL?

local management decides where the meals will be ordered. Does it really matter if it's sky chef or boston market? There will always be complaints, not matter what "management" does.

Happy Holidays...

Of course there are no stories. No management team is actively setting PHL up to fail or feeding negative propaganda to news buddies.

No wait, could it be that management can actually cause operations to run smoothly or not run at all????? No way it's all on labor either way right???
