i saw that many people said that the peidmont colors were painted wrong on the a319 but i just looked at a picture of N601P " pride of peidmont" 767 . and the color looks exactly the same as on the airbus. here is a pic of it . i hope it worked .

First of all it is P I E D M O N T.

Second go look at the pics of the retro plane it is almost flouresant blue, no where near the blue on the 767.

Photo's can be tricky because the lighting can make the color look different. Then there's that whole can of worms with scanned regular photo's, different digital cameras "seeing" slight differences, etc.

For example, in your photo of the heritage plane the blue looks darker than it really is except for where it's in direct sunlight near the front. In 700UW's partial photo, the blue appears much darker (almost navy) than it really is since it's on the "shady" side of the plane.

Take my word for it - those of us who know what the old PI blue looked like find the heritage plane glaringly different in person.

well, the picture was from airliners.net. and 700, sorry i mispelled piedmont. i was feeding my infant son as i was typing . kinda multitasking.

Here's three pictures of N603P (PI 767) taken in Jul/Aug 1987, all from airliners.net. The blue looks different in each picture.

Well, shucks - it may be my end but the "post a link" button isn't working. So go to airliners.net, search for Piedmont 767's with N603P as a keyword (I think that's the plane in the picture you posted). You'll see that the blue looks different in many of them.

Since digital camera weren't around when the PI livery disappeared, I presume all the pictures on airliners.net were taken with film cameras. As I said, different lighting, different film, processed by different labs, scanned with different scanners - it all adds up to "appearances can be deceiving". Finally, two people looking at the same picture on different computers with different video cards/monitors and we could be looking at the same picture and see slightly different colors.

I did see the 319 Piedmont in CLT today!! And they did change the color of US Airways on the side. They made it red and it looks a lot better!!! Nice job in changing the color!!!

Awesome!
Thanks to whomever went to bat for it!

This is from this morning. The quality is pretty bad as it was shot through a window and with the sun in the background. I *think* they darkened the blue up some but it is hard to tell.

Much better.

On a side note, is the quick reply not working for anyone else?

I am getting that it is a java script error.

LGA777 did get some photo's this morning but having some problems uploading them to jetphoto's and airliners.net. As soon as uploaded will post here. The plane looks "really nice" and from my 4 eyes the blue looks correct !

Cheers

You may have a problem doing that - I can't get the "post a link" button to work - went the same way as the "quick reply" I guess. Haven't tried to add an attachment to a post yet.
