Right in the middle.
Flt. 4712, a 9E CRJ went off the end of the runway last night in TVC. As of this posting the runway (runways???) there are closed. No injuries reported, but plane has serious damage.

Here's NWA's statement on the event (taken from RADAR):

"Pinnacle Statement Regarding Flight 4712
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Pinnacle Airlines Flight 4712 operating between Minneapolis - St. Paul and Traverse City, Michigan has been involved in an incident at Traverse City. Flight 4712 departed Minneapolis at 9:44 p.m. and landed in Traverse City at 12:43 a.m. The aircraft, a Canadair Regional Jet, was carrying a crew of 3 and 46 customers. Upon landing, the aircraft received no braking action and came to a stop off the end of the runway. There are no injuries reported to passengers or crew. Pinnacle is cooperating with federal authorities in their review of the incident."

A couple of interesting points here:

1. Why didn't the crew know that TVC braking action was nil?

They were already delayed in MSP for maintenance, so they could have gotten an update.

2. There was a NW DC9 scheduled to arrive at roughly the same time; that flight was cancelled due to "TVC below minimums and too much tailwind for good approach.*"

If NWA knew that things were bad, why not 9E?
