Today marks the end of the operations center in Pittsburgh , its a sad day because this is another leg in the loss of the US airways name,The work ethic and professional manner of all of the people in Pittsburgh is second to none.
I would like to especially thank West scheduling for handling all of us PHX crews and putting up with a lot of grief the past 8 years. Thanks to coordinators Linda , Steve and Shawnee for running a first class operation and always being kind and curteous , schedulers Renee , Dawn, Ellen , Peggy and Maureen were great too.You guys are awesome and best wishes to you in your future careers , you will be deeply missed.

Another nail in the coffin of one of the finest hubs USAir ever knew, PIT.  The dedication and knowledge these people brought to this company can't be matched.  That brings the lost jobs since the de-hubbing of PIT to more than 13,000 now.  Thanks to the war between the county and the company.

On the MOC side, my former co workers were second to none.  These guys knew the airplane better than the builders.  I personally knew almost all of them.

Good luck in the next leg of your career in DFW, and pray for those of us left in PIT.  We'll need it.

It's an emotional time for the US operation in PIT.  Again.

"One of the finest hubs"?  Probably.  The most expensive hub?  By far.

Well, there is no question that those staying behind in PIT rather than taking the move to DFW represents a huge loss of competence, dedication and talent.  They will be missed in the operation, for sure.

But "can't be matched" remains to be seen.  Unless those folks in PIT were natives of Krypton, I think the folks in DFW have a good shot at making an excellent showing, too.
