There has been references and questions on other threads concerning the upcoming road shows. The first one being in LGA today. I wanted to start a thread where we can post information or ask questions in one location. If this is not appropriate then let the managers close it. Thanks.

Did anybody attend todays (LGA) meeting? Would like to hear from you.

I've been asking the same question, but there is nothing but silence.

I understand it was contentious and the East MEC did not hear anything they liked or that would forward their agenda. Hence no one is willing to reveal what was said. You can be sure that if Prater was "outraged" at the West for not "following the resolution of the Rice committee" it would be all over this web site.

I do know that Prater wanted to talk face to face with the line pilots to discuss things like the pay parity and other possible compromises and protections that are available through the JNC process. It was an attempt to reason with reasonable people, without the peer pressure of the MEC, and without them controlling the conversation.

There was a "road show" at Piedmont Express hangar in Phl last week. Heard Parker, Kirby and Mule all were in attendance??????

There is another roadshow going on in DCA today. I hope someone will post something. I plan on being in CLT.

USA320Pilot comments: Either you are purposely misrepresenting information or your LGA source is inaccurate. The meeting was respectful, but it was spirited and John Prater clearly saw the US Airways pilots resolve again to never let the Nicolau Award proceed, just like when about 450 US Airways pilots went to the May 21 EC meeting in Herndon.

Prater is trying to keep ALPA on the property for both the East and West pilots with USAPA intending to submit the NMB Form 1, which is the "Application for Investigation of Representation Dispute" shortly.

I find it interesting that when the AWA MEC and Doug Parker were directly informed about USAPA's plan and USAPA close or above the number of cards needed to hold an election that Prater wrote his letter, Parker wrote his letter, and Prater huriedly cancels his schedule to hold his roadshow meetings.

You guys do realize you should fill out "the form" before sending it in, right?

I am neither misrepresenting information nor is my source inaccurate.

I was wondering when you would come on here to "shoot the messenger" as you always accuse others of.

My source happens to be me. I was there. I wanted to speak with my union president myself and deliver to him my own message as well as the sentiment of my fellow United pilots. Funny, I didn't see you there. In fact I believe you were typing away here on this web site during the LGA meeting.

I did have several long conversations with the ALPA reps that accompanied Prater, while the East pilots were hidden away with him in a private room. (As a side note, they were also there supporting the organization drive that Colgen Air was holding.) At one point they even called Prater by cell phone to see if he would break for lunch and attend to some required business. The "spirited" debate could be heard loud and clear in the background. They also offered to escort me down to the crew room, but I declined. Prater saw not the USAirway's pilot resolve, but only what the East MEC wanted him to see. Prater and his assistants were well aware of the "peer pressure" factor.

I did come away with some insight into the actual position of the EC (as opposed to the East tag line about the "west not complying with the Rice committee resolution" BS) and their opinion on the JNC and the East refusal to participate. I was also assured once again that captain Prater is keenly aware that the United pilots were pivotal in his election, and that we have his ear when we want it. They are walking a fine political line and must be sure they proceed in a way that does not put themselves in legal jeopardy (ie crossing the "t's" and dotting the "i's"), but their patience is not limitless and neither is that of the other 57,000 ALPA members.

Things will move forward sooner than you think... one way or the other.

Gag me. You guys have to be the most arrogant group in ALPA. Just another reason to get out of UA's union. Should have paid more attention to the old PI pilots that walked the picket line for the 3rd man on the 737, you know, UA’s battle they let others fight. Hopefully you won’t have to worry about US pilots in ALPA anymore. I've been sitting on the fence, but your post has me filling out the card and sending a check.

I am sure he would be happy for the 22 month Captains at CAL to go ahead of all your FO's at United and maybe some of your TED Captains, since CAL is higher pay. Plus CAL hasn't had the recent financial distress and went through CH 11, nor did they have to give up their pensions. That would sound about right according to "ALPA" merger policy.

Personally, I am suspicious of Captain Prater's venue choices for these meetings. To have an important ALPA meeting in a public restaurant or public concourse is asking for trouble or setting the other side up. I think he's setting up the East pilots. For what it's worth, I'd boycott all of his meetings. ALPA isn't going to do anything so why bother? Just vote the new union in and be done with them.

When and if US pilots change there bargaining agents where does that leave ALPA’s numbers with the major’s. ALRIGHT ALPA HAS COLGAN IN THE BAG

Well, let's see...

If you count just UA, DL, NW, & CO, that's about 25,000 plus of the 57,000. I hope nobody thinks East's 3000 or so pilots is going to make such a big difference. They are more trouble than they are worth anyway.
