I'm glad I lined all my hats with foil.
I take it, just after reading the 1st couple of paragraghs, your in "Desperation Mode" right now !
Hopefully your company (Delta?) has an EAP or a good prescription drug plan, may be worth checking out.![]()
Kev,Infowars is certainly outre, but there's a few lines in the article that definitely ring true.
The fact that people are making fun of the OP instead of debating the merit (or lack of) of the article is telling...
Kev,
While for the most part, it would be fair to say that you and I disagree on a lot of stuff, you make a good point. While I did not read the whole article, since it got to the point where I disagreed with the point that the author was trying to make, I don't doubt for a minute that there is some attempts from both the state and private sector to manipulate the "collective" mind of the populace, hell, proof of that is the successful re-election of the current moron we have in charge (although, Darth Vader, his VP is calling the shots), another example is the ability of the "Christian" right movement to successfully lobby and have legislation passed that limits and not expands our civil and social liberties (unlike our funding fathers, which gave us the Bill of Rights); but probably the most poignant example will be how many of your "union" brethren will not vote for Obama, clearly what the American working class needs, but rather for McPain, in a whole ready made set of excuses manufactured by the right - "no experience", "socialist", "runs around terrorists, who blew up the capitol, and killed Americans (see Robo Calls) [but interestingly, the FBI knows nothing about this, because they are in no hurry to arrest anyone]", the list goes on.
I think the reason we made fun of the OP, is his tendency to use inflammatory words (perhaps not in this post, but look at the string of post that he starts), like my favorite, "Communism" to describe events allegedly perpetuated by the right, and that is an oxymoron. Big business is not pro-communism, it makes about as much sense as weapons manufactures for Peace. The OP posts usually tend to have inflammatory subject lines, and for the body contain a link to a fringe conspiracy theory, radical, etc point of view website or article.
While you're right in mine having associated communism and the right(meaning political right),I failed to distinguish between the two,or actually didn't bother because I truly don't believe that "the right" and "the left" exist in Washington D.C.
As matter of fact if voting records on many issues are examined, you'll find that the two parties, for years, have voted nearly identically on key isuues that are paramount to the basic rights of independence, of the people. I have experience with the Capital Hill crowd, directly and through associates. In D.C. there is no two party system. C-span with their scripted house meetings help to assure the division of Americans by giving the appearance of two independent parties. The two "party candidates" for president are generally put forth through influence and manipulation. So whether candidate "A" or candidate"B" is elected, generally is immaterial. Either will assure the agenda set forth is more or less followed.
The only people that are divided are Americans who are trapped in their ideologies. Dancing like puppets over democrat/republican, pro-life/abortion, workers rights/free trade, gun rights/weapons confiscation, and so on.
AND the elitists who control the puppet show are laughing, as they say"whittle away" at your independence.
This big economic/banking mess they created is for you also. It hasn't culminated yet though, and likely won't for a number of years. Because ultimately the whole drive behind it is world economics. That is in fact what Globalization is.
I would hope that you're not still in denial about what Globalization is. Really, it's not just a word.
AMT,
Unfortunately, globalization, is a by-product of our social/political/economic governance systems, after all, the US is a capitalist country; interacting with other capitalist counties, and with other countries (monarchies, dictatorships, communist, etc) who want to increase their wealth, or technological infrastructure. I personally don't think that globalization is driven by a group of individuals, it is too complex of a system, and if you have ever tried to control a small group, you know what a challenge that can be, then multiply it to global proportions, it would be a cluster f**k! Globalization is driven by the greed of the investors, who give huge bonuses to the CEO's of the companies, who outsource work to other countries, to ultimately improve the bottom line of the company, damned be the employees, the environment, the future generations. But there are other culprits of globalization, the consumers, who by buying the company's products encourage the race to the bottom, and the electorate, who let the governments pass legislation allowing the import/export of goods, technology and jobs without or reduced tariffs.
Lets talk about the last group, the electorate, it has the power to control how big business conducts business in this country, through its elected representatives, however, it does not always does what it is best for it as a whole. It tends to be sidetracked by bogus issues, of which you mentioned some, which cause it to make decisions that are pro business, and anti-worker/anti-environment. Through alliances with business, religious groups, and federalist zealots, the "right" tries to make anyone or any institution who does not fit their niche "Anti-American" (see Sarah Palin's comments about how some parts of America are more "Pro-America" than others); and as a result, we get administrations, like the one we have had for the last 7 and change years, that pretty much did anything they wanted. Who permitted this? The electorate! Are they going to do it again? Probably!
You want to change the system, get out and vote, go out and help people get to vote, and of course, make sure you don't get sidetracked by bogus issues that change the person who you have decided to vote for!
