This is my first post so please pardon my ignorance. I have a trip coming up this Saturday Dec 30th, 2017 and will be flying from Columbus,OH to Chicago,IL to Hong Kong and then to Kuala Lumpur. The first 2 segments is with United and from Hong Kong to Kuala Lumpur is codeshare with Cathay Pacific/Dragon.
Couple of questions, firstly do I need separate check in with United and Cathay Pacific/Dragon? I have checked baggage so will checkin online work? Should I just wait and checkin at the airport and get it all done?
The other thing is that I am able to select my seat on all the United flight but not on the Cathay Pacific/Dragon segment. Should I be concern?
I know some of this questions/concern may sound real simple but it makes me nervous just thinking about it. Hope to get some advice and pointers. Thank you in advance.
