If I was to send a resume to the following address, and put Attn: Director of Engineering on it, Would it bypass HR and get to the Director of Engineering?

Not that I know anything about Airtran but I would say "Do it"! Why not? You've got nothing to lose. Of course I would also send in an app or Resume to HR at the same time. Good luck!
