The most recent letter from JoinTogether is a must read.
Especially the story surrounding the termination of a F/A
named Greg Papke. Does anyone know how to provide a link?
or can I just copy/paste?
It would be interesting to hear from those who know about this
recent incident.

If you think you’d be better off without representation, please read the following story by a recently terminated Delta FA.

Naturally theres most likely more to that story then meets the eye.

Like the old saying goes...theres two sides to every story, yours, mine and somewhere in the middle is the truth.

I would be the first to agree. However I say there are usually three sides. Yours/theirs and the
truth.
Lets break this down though...
-I think it is safe to say that this person was a jump seat rider.
-There was a off duty f/a in the lav.

so the questions are...
Why is a jump seat rider responsible?
Why isn't the crew?
Why isn't the individual who sat in the lav?

I believe that because there are many questions and no due process....this is a problem.
the one common theme I keep hearing/reading about is the total silence that comes
after an incident. Delta like to play the "wait it out" game. No communication. Hoping you quit.

Thats what i meant, three sides.

Theres more to that story then he's letting on.

Why should he be compelled to tell the A-line to "let it go" or "not do anything about it"? Something doesn't sound right. Its his word against the entire crew it seems. Like I said, something doesnt sound right about this story.

Please do not copy and post entire articles/letters/etc. from other, copyrighted, sources. A link to the source was provided. That is all that can be allowed. There are legal issues for USAviation.com.

The way 2BlacknBlue posted the link is the correct way. You may include a "teaser" quote as was done with a link to the complete article. Thanks.

The person responsible in this instance is the woman that hid in the lav for take-off. She made a choice. Even if it's remotely possible that the j/s rider could have encouraged her (and I'm not saying he did but I can hear the NoWay crowd now), SHE made the choice. For him to be faced with termination over this makes absolutely no sense.
I have a few questions :
--Why is it whenever a FA is involved in these types of situations, the anti-union crowd at the least questions or at the most, tars and feathers their peer (FA) rather than questioning the company as well? (1999 drug testing, SLC Seven)
--Why is it that, according to one FB member, when he posted this incident on the No Way AFA site, it was removed 2 minutes later?

BTW, after railing on and on for weeks about their group being "open" on FB vs. AFA's being closed (which I don't think it is), NoWayAFA is now a "closed" group. You must request entry, and after they have determined you are on the real NW or DL seniority lists, will grant you entry (if you meet other criteria).
It's become clear that this crowd doesn't like it when these situations come up. I noticed the group shut it's open status down not long after the 1999 Drug Testing debaucle started being discussed again. The thread was removed after a day or two anyway. It's like Pravda, KGB all over again. Unbelievable.

Blimey! Now it's open again.
I don't think those folks can make up their minds what they want.

A person called in last week to the conference call to "Clear up" a rumor.
I believe they are active in that facebook thing.
I wonder if they are going to call next month to ask for a clarification
of this incident?

on another note, was facebook even created in 1999?

This whole story doesn't make much sense. Why should he be compelled to tell the A-line to "let it go" or "not do anything about it"? Something doesn't sound quite right. Its his word against the entire crew it seems and theres a lot of holes in that story.

When has that ever happen? Why is it in these types of situation the pro-union crowd always tars and feathers the company without really investigating nor telling the whole story? If they were reporters for newspaper they would suck at it!

You really need to step away from facebook. Do you realize you are complaining on a forum...about another forum?

Much like the pro AFA groups suddenly clammed up weeks ago when the anti union people came in? Like that?

Come on Luke, you seem like a nice guy, dont let these groups get the best of you. Its not very atttractive.

No, the guy who invented it was only about 14 then!!!
He was on the cover of Forbes(I think) recently and of course, is a multi-millionaire!

PS: dapoes: You will be pleased to know that a rather defiant FA I know is thinking of not voting for AFA this time as this person is displeased with how they are running their campaign/organization through all of this. Gone are the AFA tags.
Did I just make your night?? LOL

Good for him. What are you waiting for?

OK, I will give you that. But from a few incidents with friends in years past, I feel that way. But...that was years ago so I'll try to keep an open mind.

Girl, you and I are both guilty as charged!!

That's nice of you to say. I am a nice guy. I guess I'm just overly-passionate sometimes.

Not so fast.....🙂

Actually, I haven't had tags on my bag in quite some time. Low profile, low, low, low, low
What is that thingy one of the red-dress girls signs off with "vocal minority, silent majority"??
