Specifically, the Middle Eastern "musicians" traveling on NW Flight 327 from Detroit to L.A. on June 29, 2004. At the time, their suspicious behavior onboard the A/C was viewed by the Dept. of Homeland Security as non-threatening.
Now, there is documentation that shows this event was in fact a "dry run" for a terrorist attack...

Thank you for reminding me of this...because I had a personal incident like this.
It was on the scarebus from ??? around 2002 and at first the lead called us to "check out those men"
we looked and sure enough they were acting very wierd.
All seated seperately, yet they were in eye contact with each other and giving each other signals.
The hair on the back of my neck started to stand up but suddenly my fear turned to pure anger.
Those girls were scared silly, but I went out and bothered the crap out of all of them because I wasn't going to be going down like a scared little Bi0tch.
"WATER?"
"WATER?"
"TRASH?"
I looked at all of them in the eye and not one of them looked at me in the eye. I trained with combat controlers for a short time(but couldn't be one because I was a female... ) and I wasn't afraid of them. I already had a plan in my head incase something happens. They must have known something was up because suddenly they were all looking outside.
You know it's when things like incidents like this you learn more and more about yourself ... I wasn't afraid at all. Those girls were. I don't remember if she even told the cockpit about it.
NEVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER be complacent! I'm always looking at everyone when I'm boarding. Coats? Pre departures? I'll wait until the "powerboarding" is about over before I start it.
Sorry. Welcome to the new Northwest. There was one more incident but probably not a good idea to post that....
