A Russian Sukhoi Superjet 100 passenger plane with 46 people aboard has gone missing on a demonstration flight in Indonesia, reports say.
The plane disappeared from radar screens during a flight from Jakarta meant to last 30 minutes, a blogger with the Sukhoi delegation said.

An extremely sad story. May the crew and passengers rest in peace. By what little we know, I wonder if the aircraft's ground/terrain collision avoidance system failed; the mountains were obscured and they slammed into the volcano. I like the Superjet and I hope this does not end the program.

The plane probably crashed I think. Sad. Looks like another episode of Air Crash Investigations.

No probably about it - the authorities found the crash site the day after it disappeared. I hate to jump to conclusions, but it crashed into the almost vertical side of a mountain at 6100-6200' and the initial reports said that the crew had previously requested a descent to 6000'.

Oh, and the Sukhoi Superjet is a brand new plane introduced only a few years ago. Such a terrible thing to have a brand new plane crash. That is a waste of money
