Hot from the desert, buyout for all senior fleet in the works.Keep it quiet.

Can't say about ramp but on the mechanics side did hear the union talked to the company about insurance for when you retire to get you to medicare age, strictly rumor of course lots of guys can't retire but would if they had a little help, the way it is now we all are going to be working until medicare kicks in so sad! Nothing like being a slave to your job because of health issues

Everywhere and everyone is different, but I found with few exceptions, I worked the whippersnappers into the ground.

Who's your daddy?!? 😀

The older ones have been working since you were in diapers.
Ok... but the question is, are they now worth what they are being paid? If so... GREAT. But often I find that the question should be asked of all employees, but isn't.

They already had one round of senior ramp buyouts...It was called outsourcing. Most of the senior people were in those stations...

Yeah,
And you probably think d.o.h. and seniority don't account for anything. So we should start off making full pay and get paid less as we climb in seniority? Hmmm, so when you finally learn how to do the job you no longer hold any value; but, when you're young, dumb, and maliable you're worth more? In my station I'm a Fleet Service Lead, the Station Training Coordinator-"Below the Wing", the E.A.P. Coordinator, I'm involved in Ramp Safety, the P.A.W.O.B. committee, and handling Tech. Pub. Manual Revisions. I don't get compensated any more for doing these responsibilites. Let's see though, a rookie who's still wet behind the ears is more valuable than me because he has a younger, stronger back? Maybe I'm being a little heavy worded; but next time you ought to express your statements about senior agents a little less strongly.

I hope none of us ever has to wear Depends; but if we do we'll see who's laughing then.

BRAVO!!!

I have never seen such a bunch of idiot management and employees as what has been formed and inherited. There is absolutely NO respect for longevity, loyalty, OR senority! If that is the American way, then it SUCKS!!. If that is the course of business, then it SUCKS!! If that is the America West...oops.."new" US Airways way. IT SUCKS!!

Entitlements aren't a bad thing when you have earned them through dedication and sacrifice. It amazes me that the ones pitching a big b**** fit are those junior and those snot nosed know-it-alls that smuggly wrap everything around that GD word. All of you that complain about entitlement, please ask DP to personally put your senority and all perks at the bottom of the list when you reach 10 years. I mean, why not start from the bottom? It could save the company. Hell, it could save the world.

We all have a birth date. We will have to work. Most of us will turn 21, 30, 40, 65, and if lucky into our 70s/80s. We start OUT in diapers and end in them. You may be young, pretty, and firm now...but you too are ONLY human. For all of you with such strong opinions and vial words towards longevity and the old, you too will grow old and I sincerely hope karma pays you back.

Rant over!! Now I have to change my depends, change my hearing aid battery, and smash my dinner up in the blender. 😛

Neither the Eagles Football team nor McDonalds pay more to people that hang around.

Wow, your blind hatred is a major problem.

Yep flight magically leave without any rampers touching them and they just sit around and get paid.

I bet you could not handle one eight hour shift on the ramp.

You really need to educate yourself.
