very sad that that pos passed
Oh well. I guess I'll still continue on treating all you guys working like crap since I don't know who's a scab and who isn't.Scabs will have to look into the eyes of real working men on a daily basis...if they have the courage to do so. Men who were not afraid to fight for the good of their families, their profession, and for the good of the flying public. These scabs will have to work with men who have demonstrated to the world they are not afraid to protect the standards of the craft and by doing so defend the safety of everyone who flys. The Pilots and Flight Attendants must be breathing a sigh of relief today.
Perhaps some of the strikers values such as character and fortitude will rub off on the spineless opportunists who felt no remorse at crossing a picket line and stealing another man's job. Perhaps they'll find out how real men are supposed to behave and one day feel shame for their selfish actions.
We can only hope.
Results are here.
 I resigned way back in January of this year. No local anymore and no leadership to speak of. I cannot see going back to work for these guys as You will be in the sights of management and the scabs, with their no harassment policy. Not only that I am not sure I could look a pilot in the eye and not spit in it or punch him out or just plain kick his ass. Don't feel any love for the f/a's either. There will never be a strike and no one at that company will ever support another strike. What you got is all you will ever have. Are you happy now?So is there a winner...really? I would say for the few mechanics that had faith enough in nwa to have saved tons of vacation, they will now get that money...albeit less than they should. Those of us who didn't leave them an hour on the books but have over 1,000 sick hours will lose all of that. We get ten weeks severance so that will help pay a few bills. I can't speak for all the mechanics in DTW and MSP but I'm done. Now that it's over I'm resigning and taking the ten weeks. I'll pay my credit card bill and start over. Fortunately I'm being paid well by my new employer and didn't have to sell my house. I feel bad for the guys that have lost a lot more.
What do I wish for nwa?? Same as I wish for the SCABs. Greedy all! ...for nwa...wallow in BK, bilking your vendors and stealing from your employees. I can't imagine why a single business entity or investor would support this airline.
As for the SCABs...I thought some of you were my friends...nothing like a little adversity to bring out the best (and in the SCABs case) and the worst in a person. I hope everytime you walk in a grocery store from now on you will openly be called a SCAB.
Big Jimmy, your right. Never on this property could any group effectively strike again. This whole battle showed their colors, and the Co. has got them by the short hairs. I only hope that other unions at other carriers wise up - fast. They'll be in the crosshairs shortly.:............" Actually it was the TWU at AA that did that. Sorry guys. All in all, if we sat down and compared numbers over the past six years you guys are still financially ahead. You did the right thing. By getting the big raise first and keeping it the longest your total earnings over the past six years, despite being on strike for a year, would still be more than a similarly situated mechanic at AA.This is a very sad day indeed. I was hopeful that the strike would continue, but the membership has spoken.
I will also be taking the 10 weeks separation pay, as I will not work alongside SCABS who helped to set back our profession by 20 years. :angry2:
