Actually it was the TWU at AA that did that. Sorry guys. All in all, if we sat down and compared numbers over the past six years you guys are still financially ahead. You did the right thing. By getting the big raise first and keeping it the longest your total earnings over the past six years, despite being on strike for a year, would still be more than a similarly situated mechanic at AA.

:blink: I resigned way back in January of this year. No local anymore and no leadership to speak of. I cannot see going back to work for these guys as You will be in the sights of management and the scabs, with their no harassment policy. Not only that I am not sure I could look a pilot in the eye and not spit in it or punch him out or just plain kick his ass. Don't feel any love for the f/a's either. There will never be a strike and no one at that company will ever support another strike. What you got is all you will ever have. Are you happy now?

I smelled something was up. Big Daddy wanted to resign but I told him not to. He was with a good company now, paying the same as what it was before and NW wasn't letting him roll over his 401k...since he was an "inactive" employee. He was spittin' mad (plus two HR people gave him misinformation) :down:

Yep. I don't blame ya for hating us F/A or those pilots. I hear them boo hooing all the time now about how they are not making ends meet or how they have to get second jobs and stuff.

Me? I tell them I went through this stuff last year....don't care about their whining.

Sorry. We adjusted to having no job for a while, and we weren't afraid of standing up to what we believe in.

I've been to the very bottom many times and it just makes us all a stronger person when we bounce back...

there is no way I would have supported him being a scab, nor even if I forced this upon him he would have refused and probably asked for a divorce or something. This is something he will never be- a scab.

There was some silly rumor going on last year about the Teamster's contract not clearly writing out job security for those going on sympathy strikes. I dunno about anyone else but we had a nice argument about this. I also voted yes on the sympathy strike.

And then of course there's those 6 f/a who did walk in sympathy on their own and are still out of a job.

What about them?


And how many pilots walked?


Now here's another thing. If I belong to a scab union- therefore a scab- then does this mean Big Daddy is sleeping with a scab.

I'll have to think about this. Of course I'm drunk now since we are celebrating getting rid of the "Red Tail Curse"

I'm sad for all of you. In your memory I will continue treating all the MX on line like crud.

Plz do not take my remarks as a shot at you as I respect both your views and comments. You are true union. And I know there are a lot of single working parents who cannot risk it all for a cause. And I would not ask them to give it up for me, but most thought they were after only the mechanics. Well we see how that played out. I don't know how your old man lets you get on those airplanes though and sleeps at night. Sorry if I offended YOU it was not my intention as most of us here view you in a different light.

JMHO, culpability started with the first concessions and snowballed from there. Once one group gives, it's all over. We M&R Mechs are small issue if we do not have the support of our unionized coworkers. The indecisiveness of the FA's and cooperation of ALPO will revisit them in short order.

I know which ones you are talking about. No offense taken. I saw people from one extreme to another on this issue. Well children, no children- there are ways around it.
