Singapore Airlines (SIA) said its overall load factor in February rose to 69.2 pct from 66.1 pct a year earlier.

Its passenger load factor during the month improved to 76.2 pct from 71.3 pct a year ago, as capacity rose 3.0 pct year-on-year, the flag carrier said.

Its cargo load factor also edged up slightly to 64.9 pct in February from 62.6 pct the year before.

"The year-on-year increase in capacity arose from the injection of additional flights on existing routes to Beijing, Fukuoka, Taipei, Hanoi, Kolkata, Mumbai, Penang, Adelaide and Perth," it said.

"In addition, Singapore Airlines introduced four-times weekly services to Karachi and Lahore in Pakistan from February 1," it said.

SIA added that passenger load factors on routes to all regions showed improvement in February over the same month last year.
