While most people are focused on OBL having his brains splatered across his master bedroom, which I totally understand, the aviation community noticed this.

Speculation is either that it's an entirely new design or a highly modified Blackhawk. My money is on a modified UH-60. Reports are that it cmae down hard due to the load it was carrying and the weather conditions, i.e. heat.

Good point, I've read lots about killing the wop wop acoustic signature also.......making the Helo's somewhat more silent than their earlier counter parts.

I just heard on the news that the US wants the tail back so the Chinese don't get a hold of it. From the news piece, the tail has some fancy stuff in it.

Looks like the only thing that didn't make it over the wall was the tail boom.
5 blade tail rotor with a cap?

Looks like something new.

Reports are coming in that the people that live in the area did not hear the helicopters until they were literally overhead. Getting helicopters like the Blackhawk that quiet is quite a feat, assuming they were Blackhawks. Some of the earlier accounts say the strike force consisted of two Blackhawks and two Chinooks. If there were two Chinooks I'm surprised they sneaked up on anyone. Those things are way loud!

I'm going to take a shot in the dark and say we will not see any footage of the assault ala Predator view due to these previously unknown helicopters.

The only way they could get a Chinook close without being heard is to push it in...
