Storm spurs changes in US Airways' policies

US Airways Group Inc. has temporarily amended its ticket and baggage policies for customers that may be affected by tropical storm Ernesto.

If service is canceled because of weather conditions, US Airways will provide the following options to customers at no extra cost:

* Reschedulng of travel to originate up to seven days later.
* A move to alternate flights on US Airways or on another airline if an alternative flight does not depart within four hours.
* A return trip to the customer's city of origin and a new travel date up to seven days later.
* A refund for the full value of the ticket.

The changes will be offered to passengers flying through Aug. 30 on any US Airways or US Airways code share flights traveling to or from Montego Bay and Kingston, Jamaica; Grand Cayman Island; and Fort Lauderdale, Miami, West Palm Beach, Fort Myers and Key West, Fla.

Tempe, Ariz.-based US Airways serves more than 230 communities in the United States, Canada, Europe, the Caribbean and Latin America. It is the dominant carrier at Philadelphia International Airport.
