Good article, thanks for posting. But I could have done without this quote:

Yes I know her workdays frequently included overnights. And her Anchorage-based NW pilot husband? They were going to have to make some choices anyway...

It happened in the steel industry, it is happening now in the airline industry and soon it will happen in the auto industry.

Choices in the market. For both consumers and labor.
 
44 days....wow. Who gets that kind of time off these days anyway? I thought my three weeks were good.
