What's new

The Short List

Well we do have a few 777's on order, not to mention CO just up'd the orders of the 787 to 25. My training group got to sit down with Larry the other day and ask anything we wanted. It was an awsome experence to sit with the CEO of the company your going to work for and ask him about mergers, pax bill of rights, bases, new destinations. He said there will be a few new places added to the international system, but like people said before it is a lot of EWR routes. I do think they should do some more IAH to asia flights. Maybe they will! I just cannot wait to get those new 787's! I think United is the only other one that has them ordered in the US(?). Should be exciting! Bottom line for CO, we are turning big profits, funding pension plans, having profit sharing, and providing a great place to work! The attitude over all is really amazing!! I think you would be hard pressed to find a better major carrier to work for (or fly lol). I am proud of the product we have, and the routes we have. Good Planes, Good People, Good Money. What more could you ask for?

Just Continental and Northwest have them (B787) on order from the USA, so far.

Might want to check your info regarding "funding pension plans" for new F/As. My understanding is that you do not have a defined benefit pension plan.

Air India will be providing service from IAH to Mumbai using the Boeing 747-400.
Correction, this service will be done using Boeing 777 LR's. The final governmental rangling has been done. Exact start date will be announced in a few weeks. The service will start early 2008 and it is planned to be daily

From what i know, the bulk of that operation, on the USA side, is handled by BP Chicago offices, i could be wrong. I do know that Glasgow wasnt on the list for nonstop IAH service.

Houston-Aberdeen flights will be flown by City Star Airlines.

The new service by Emirates is very popular!

We get Qatar Airways in May, nonstop to Doha
We get Singapore Airlines 4 times a week from Singapore-Moscow-Houston

Continental has all but committed to Dubai-Rome-Madrid-Milan and several others beginning in 2009.

Its nice to have such fine foreign flag carriers entering the market here, but i would prefer the routes to be flown by the hometown carrier. 😉
